Online Investigations Pty Ltd – your preferred asks: Is your online date asking you for a dating pass ID / hookup clearance / security clearance or criminal background check prior to engaging in conversation with you or taking things further?
Has your online date encouraged you to obtain one of these passes (such as a dating pass ID) by directing you to a specific website offering these?
Example of a scam website
Is your online Date saying something along the lines of:
“Ok babe listen .. VERIFICATION HOOKUP ID is a process of running a verification and make sure I’m not meeting with someone who is either a convict or offender.verification hookup id is used to identify a person who has been the subject of a background check including criminal records/legal issues. This serves as a proof that you are safe, legit and free from harm. , they will provide you my full details including my hotel address and contact number as long as you pass their check it takes like 2 minutes. I hope you will show me you are serious .. If you have nothing to hide then MESSAGE me back then i’ll give you the instruction on how to get Verification ID okay babe ..😘😘😘”
WARNING: You are being scammed! These are fake background checking websites created by cyber criminals. They only want to collect your personal identification and credit card details so they can steal your personal contact details and commit further fraud.
The websites you are directed to may be official looking and some even contain stolen logos from government authorities and official brokers. In other cases, they are poorly put together (note the terrible use of grammar!) and are published on free sharing platforms such as Facebook, Blogspot and Google Plus.
Unfortunately, once the money and/or documentation has been sent, the scam is now complete and all fake profiles will be deleted and the scammers will cease all form of communication.
Online Investigations Pty Ltd, your preferred warns you to NEVER, EVER send copies to your Date any of your personal documentation such as drivers licences, passports etc.
